This is the sound of campus community!
Sure, this campus is where you'll learn, but it's also where you'll live, eat, and sleep. We think you'll love it! Campus is where the best stuff happens. And here’s the greatest part—it’s also full of lots of other people looking for somebody to hang out, study, or get a cup of coffee with. Welcome to a community that’s here for you.

Important Dates and Deadlines
Additional Housing Information
Residence halls will begin opening for first-years at 9 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023. Arrival on this date is important to a successful start of your transition to Puget Sound and New Student Orientation.
Move-In:
Move-in will begin at different intervals based on where you have been assigned to live. The intervals are created to allow maximum usage of your time and to avoid excessive waiting, which occurs when everyone arrives at the same time.
- 9 a.m. ━ Third floor, or rooms that start with 3.
- 9:45 a.m. ━ Ground level and fourth floors, or rooms that start with 0 or 4.
- 10:30 a.m. ━ Second floor, or rooms that start with 2
- 11:15 a.m. ━ First floor, or rooms that start with 1
We ask that you not arrive prior to the designated times in order to avoid lines and congestion with parking. If you plan to arrive on campus earlier than your designated move-in time, we suggest you report to the Welcome Center and complete the check-in steps for Passages, our new student orientation, before reporting to your new residence on campus.
Parking/Unloading:
During the check-in process, we have designated a specific unloading area for you based on your housing assignment. Please use the parking lot listed below that corresponds with your building.
- If you will reside in Anderson/Langdon Hall or Harrington Hall use the parking lot located at North 18th and Warner Streets (Lot 5);
- If you will reside in Todd/Phibbs Hall use parking lot located at North 14th and Union Streets (Lot 4);
- If you will reside in Schiff Hall use the parking lot located at North 18th and Lawrence Streets (Lot 6).
These areas will be designated as unloading zones only. Once you have unloaded your personal belongings, you will be directed by staff from Security Services to the nearest permanent parking lot for the duration of the New Student Orientation weekend.
Furnishings:
Your room will be furnished with the following furniture (measurements are approximate): wardrobe (45”x51”x24”), desk (42”x24”), desk chair, drawers (22”x22”x5”), bookcase with 2 shelves (30”x16”x15”), and bed (all beds are extended-length 80" twin).
Room (And Never Bored)
First-year students are assigned to one of six buildings, generally in double-occupancy rooms, with several floor plans. There may be a small number of triples and quad rooms, but those assignments vary from year to year.
We affirm the gender identity of all students and offer housing to fit your needs. You can make that indication on your housing application.
Register for Housing
First-year and transfer students who submit their deposits by May 1 are guaranteed housing in their first year. Here’s all you have to do:
Fill out the application
Fill out the housing application on myPugetSound by June 1. Request a specific roommate, if you want (you’ll both have to indicate this on the housing form). Indicate certain lifestyle characteristics to consider.
Get a Housing Assignment
You’ll be assigned to a residence hall and matched with a roommate. You don’t have to find a roommate ahead of time. About 80% of first-year students go through our roommate-matching process.
